Everything You
Need to Know
The Electric MOKE
ABOUT THE MOKE
Sun-drenched roads, salt air, and zero emissions. Here’s everything you’ve been wondering about the MOKE — the iconic vehicle designed for people who live life differently.
Whether you’re cruising to the beach, exploring resort grounds or simply turning heads in town, the MOKE delivers style, sustainability, and pure coastal joy in one iconic package.
The current MOKE is made by MOKE International and built from scratch as a modern electric vehicle. It looks familiar because the design DNA is still present, but underneath it’s completely new. Improved build quality, robust safety features and modern mechanics.
The Electric MOKE isn’t designed as a fast car, and that’s its charm. It’s built for a slower pace of life; exploring coastal roads, cruising resort grounds and discovering beautiful coastal towns and villages. Typically, it reaches 50–80 km/h (roughly 30–50 mph) depending on the spec, which is more than enough for the journeys we believe MOKE owners are seeking. Arriving at a beachfront restaurant relaxed and in the perfect mood for a fun evening.
Configuration options may vary, so check with your local dealer if you have specific requirements.
You can purchase a MOKE through an authorised MOKE dealer. Start on the MOKE International website to find your nearest stockist, whether you’re in the UK, mainland Europe, Australia or the US.
Range-wise, it’s designed for the kind of driving the MOKE is actually used for — coastal cruising, resort routes, town errands, that sort of thing. It’s not built to do motorway miles. But for the journeys most MOKE owners are actually doing? It handles them without issue.
Yes – there’s no clutch, no gearstick, nothing to fiddle with. The MOKE’s torque delivery is immediate, which makes it feel quick around town even though it’s built for leisurely cruising. Customers are often surprised by how responsive and effortless it feels.
Yes – this is basically what the MOKE was made for. The MOKE has been a beach car since the 1960s. It became a fixture of Caribbean Island life specifically because it was open, light, easy to park and FUN. Those same qualities have all been retained in the current version.
Salt air, sandy tracks, slow coastal roads. The MOKE does all of it beautifully. From the villa to the beach, around town, to the restaurant, it’s the perfect choice for coastal driving.
Quite a few already do. The MOKE works really well as a guest transfer vehicle for hotels, a resort runabout, or a branded shuttle at events. It looks incredible on arrival photography; guests always want to know more.
From a practical standpoint, it makes sense too — low running costs, simple to maintain, quiet, clean. If you’re running a hospitality operation that cares about offering unique client experiences the MOKE could be right for you.
It’s worth speaking to your local MOKE Partner before you buy, especially if you’re planning to use it on public roads rather than just private land or resort grounds. They’ll know exactly what rules apply where you are.
The Electric MOKE is considered a low-speed electric vehicle in many markets, so it’s worth doing some research if you’re planning to take it on public roads. Your local MOKE dealer can advise on what applies in your area.
